US Labour Market Adds 162,000 Jobs in August
The US labour market added 162,000 nonfarm payroll jobs in August, while keeping unemployment steady at 4.1 per cent, according to official data.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a rise in manufacturing employment with 16,000 new jobs added in August and a total increase of 58,000 since December last year.
Machinery and fabricated metal product manufacturing each added 6,000 jobs, while construction remained relatively unchanged at 22,000 new positions.
