US Long-Term Bond Rates Surge After Fed Freezes Key Interest Rate
The U.S. Federal Reserve's decision to freeze its key interest rate has led to a surge in long-term government bond rates.
The yield on 30-year U.S. bonds reached 5.21 percent, up 0.1 percentage point from the previous session and the highest level since July 2007.
This marks a significant jump in interest rates, which were previously at 3.50-3.75% rate.
