US Stocks Rally as Investors Await Critical Nonfarm Payroll Data Release
The US stock market is gearing up for a potentially significant day on Friday, August 7, 2026, as investors await the highly anticipated nonfarm payroll data. The Dow Jones index dropped by 464.02 points or 0.9% to close at 53,885.10 in the previous session, while the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 indices also declined.
Despite this sharp selling pressure, US stock futures are trading with a sharp upside ahead of the jobs data release. The Dow Jones futures are up 71 points, the S&P 500 futures gained 21.25 points, but the Nasdaq 100 futures have outperformed with over 168 points.
Analysts at Danske Bank forecast nonfarm payrolls at +70k, while Capital Economics expects around 90,000 in July. Economists at ING predict a modest rise in unemployment to 4.3% on a higher participation rate.
