US Treasury Operation Economic Outcast Intensifies Pressure on Iran
The U.S. Treasury's Operation Economic Outcast has intensified pressure on Iran, causing its national currency to plummet to over 2.5 million rials per U.S. dollar.
In an interview with FOX Business, Erin Browne, the Under Secretary for International Affairs at the U.S. Treasury Department, stated that the current measures are 'winning' in terms of economic isolation and pressure on Tehran.
The Operation Economic Outcast initiative, launched on August 24, targets key sectors such as digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping, crucial to Iran's economy and its funding of international terrorism.
Browne emphasized that the Treasury has met with substantial success in isolating Iran financially and militarily, with additional sanctions imposed on individuals and entities linked to the Iranian military and its procurement activities.
