US Treasury Yield Hits Near Two-Year High as Inflation Concerns Mount
The US 10-year Treasury yield has reached its highest level since January 2025, increasing to 4.79% from 4.73% late Friday.
This surge in yields is largely driven by concerns over persistent inflation, which remains above the Federal Reserve's 2% target.
The rising oil prices are adding to these fears, with Brent crude gaining 1.7% to $92 per barrel and US benchmark crude climbing 2.2% to $87.67 per barrel.
In Europe, bond yields are also increasing, with Japan's 10-year bond yield touching 3%, a level it hasn't hit since 1996, and Germany's 10-year bond yield rising to 3%, a 15-year high.
