USD/CHF Breakout Rally Hits Resistance Amid Fed Rate Cut Hopes
The USD/CHF breakout rally is facing its limits as it extends its fourth consecutive weekly gain, driven by Federal Reserve revisions that have lifted the dollar. According to Michael Boutros, Senior Market Analyst at StoneX Media, this rally has now pushed close to a 3.9% advance from the August low.
The daily momentum of USD/CHF is pushing into territory it hasn't held since June, as Fed revisions indicate further rate cuts in the coming months. The Swiss National Bank's rate decision also plays a crucial role in shaping the pair's movement.
Boutros notes that fed funds futures imply a high likelihood of additional rate cuts this year, which is supporting the dollar's rally against the Swiss franc. However, the current momentum may be testing its limits as it nears key resistance levels.
