USD Holds Highs as Swiss Franc Struggles for Direction
The US Dollar continued to hold its ground as it reached new highs against the Swiss Franc, trading at nearly a 16-month high of 0.8263 on Wednesday.
The pair pulled back slightly in Asian hours on Thursday, but remains supported by expectations of further policy tightening from the Federal Reserve.
The Fed's decision to raise the federal funds rate by 25 basis points to a target range of 3.75% to 4.00% was widely anticipated, and markets are now assigning a 49.8% probability to another hike in October.
