USD/JPY Neutral as 55-Hour MA Holds
The USD/JPY currency pair is currently in a neutral position from an intraday perspective. However, as long as the 55-period four-hour Exponential Moving Average (EMA) holds at 163.20, consolidation should be brief.
According to ActionForex.com, a sustained break above 153.97 would resume the larger uptrend and potentially reach 138.2% projection of 152.25 to 160.71 from 155.01 at 166.07.
Conversely, if the 55-period four-hour EMA is broken, it could indicate that the pair is correcting its rise from 155.01, and a deeper fall to 160.46 cluster support (38.2% retracement of 155.01 to 163.97 at 160.54) may occur.
In the bigger picture, the rise from 139.87 (2025 low) is seen as another rising leg of the long-term uptrend. The next target is 61.8% projection of 139.87 to 159.44 from 152.25 at 164.34.
