USD Stages Modest Recovery Amid Middle East Tensions

The US Dollar (USD) has staged a modest recovery against its major rivals on Tuesday after posting small gains on Monday. Market participants are awaiting mid-tier data releases from the US, including the Conference Board's Consumer Confidence Index for August and July New Home Sales, while keeping a close eye on developments in the Middle East.

The USD Index remains above 99.00, with US stock index futures rising between 0.2% and 0.5%. Strategists at TD Securities attribute the Dollar's recent slide to increased financial repression and institutional credibility risks, which have further cemented bearish USD momentum.

Investor positioning has flipped from long to short, with more room for growth, according to TD. Options markets also suggest investors are chasing the USD lower, with front-end risk reversals broadly flipping toward USD puts vs G10 currencies amid rising implied vols.
