Vanguard All-World ETF Hits New High on Weak US Payrolls
The Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF has reached a new high after a weak US employment report. The nonfarm payrolls rose by just 29,000 in September, missing economists' expectations of 90,000.
This news led to a rally in global equities, with the ETF finishing Friday at EUR 171.38, up 0.6% for the day. It's now within 0.2% of its 52-week high of EUR 171.80 and has gained 18% year-to-date.
The soft US payrolls number reduced the odds of further Federal Reserve tightening, according to traders. This reduction in rate-cut bets was a key factor in the rally, along with declining oil prices which added support to risk appetite.
