New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said Vietnam is the fastest-growing economy in ASEAN and an emerging star in Asia, offering New Zealand great cooperation opportunities.

Luxon told reporters about four agreements reached between the two countries to deepen bilateral cooperation. The agreements include a peace operations training arrangement, a renewed education cooperation agreement, an agricultural package, and further funding for the Asian mega deltas and ASEAN climate-smart agricultural programs.

The agriculture package will expand market access for New Zealand's honey and deer products and Vietnam's fresh cut flowers and foliage, strengthening cooperation between their agriculture ministries. Luxon said this cooperation is critical to meet the changing skills of both economies.
