Wall Street Rally Boosts Futures Amid Fed Rate Hike Speculation
Stock index futures rose on Friday following Wall Street's rally on Thursday. The rebound came after Wednesday's selloff, which was triggered by the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023.
The Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.41%, 0.41%, and 0.62% respectively. Fed officials Michelle Bowman and Jeffrey Schmid are scheduled to speak, and investors will be monitoring their comments for clues on the central bank's rate path.
The Treasury yields also saw slight changes: the 2-year yield rose 2 basis points to 4.70%, while the 10-year yield rose 1 basis point to 4.95%. The 30-year yield fell by 0.5 basis points to 5.29%.
Among S&P 500 stocks, Equinix saw a significant gain of 2%, followed by Verisk Analytics at 1.95%. However, some stocks experienced losses: Steel Dynamics dropped 4.08%, and Nucor fell 3.02%.
