Warsh to Shape New Fed Strategy at Jackson Hole
At the upcoming Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium from August 27-29, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will address financial innovation and its implications on payments and policy. This event marks his first appearance at the symposium since becoming Fed Chief in May 2026.
Warsh's speech is expected to provide insight into the regime change he has repeatedly mentioned as his arrival at the Fed, but market analysts don't expect him to signal future interest rates or inflation targets. In fact, Warsh has hinted that he may move away from near-term data discussions and address larger structural problems in monetary policy.
The task forces initiated by Warsh will investigate issues essential to the overall conduct of monetary policy, with external advisers co-leading the initiative alongside Federal Reserve staff. The five task forces will focus on communications, balance sheet policy, data, productivity and jobs, and inflation frameworks.
