Warsh's Inflation Battle Plan Fuels Investor Uncertainty
Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh's commitment to controlling inflation has created uncertainty among investors, according to Citadel Securities.
In a recent note, Nohshad Shah, head of EMEA fixed-income sales at Citadel, stated that the central bank's approach is unclear and may lead to a negative feedback loop.
The Fed kept interest rates unchanged last week, but three policymakers voted for an immediate increase. Warsh noted that rising Treasury yields had tightened financial conditions, allowing markets to perform some of the Fed's work.
