Won Strengthens Despite Rising US Yields Amid Exporter Dollar Sales
The South Korean won continued its upward trend against the US dollar on September 30, as exporters converted their dollar earnings into local currency.
The won was quoted at 1,352.8 won per dollar at 3:30 p.m., a 3.9-won increase from the previous trading session's close.
This strength occurred despite rising yields on longer-dated US Treasuries.
Traders are also closely watching US data releases this week, particularly inflation and employment figures, which could provide clues for the Federal Reserve's monetary policy direction.
