Xi Jinping's State Visit Yields Eight Deliverables for China-US Relations
President Xi Jinping's state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25 resulted in eight deliverables and understandings between China and the US, further enriching the substance of their vision for bilateral relations. The agreements span various areas, including economy and trade, technology, people-to-people exchanges, and international situations.
One major outcome is that both sides have agreed to build a constructive relationship of strategic stability based on respect, fairness, and reciprocity. On the economic front, they recognized the positive role of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism and agreed to establish mechanisms such as a trade council, with an arrangement for a $30 billion US dollar reciprocal tariff reduction.
They also agreed to establish a China-US dialogue on artificial intelligence and set up a bilateral communication channel for AI incidents. In the security domain, their militaries agreed to conclude a memorandum of understanding on crisis communication and prevention as soon as possible.
