Yen Draws Attention as Currency Investors Flee Dollar
Currency investors are shifting their attention from the U.S. dollar to the Japanese yen due to its recent decline in value.
The balance of yen deposits at five major commercial banks increased by 4.88 billion yen compared to last month, reaching 1.1305 trillion yen.
In contrast, dollar deposits decreased by about 7.2 billion dollars over the same period.
As the yen's value fell to around 850 won per 100 yen at the end of last month, demand for purchasing yen in advance is rising.
