Yen Hits New Low Against Dollar Amid London Trading

The Japanese yen weakened significantly against the US dollar in London trading on the 10th. The dollar traded at 158.90 to 159.00 yen as of 4:00 PM UK time, marking a decline of exactly 1 yen compared to the same point at the end of the previous week.

The yen briefly fell to around 159.06, its weakest level since July 31 when the Japanese and US governments conducted coordinated intervention.

The euro traded in a nearly flat range against the dollar, with no significant changes observed. The euro's upside was capped by uncertainty surrounding the situation in the Middle East, leading to higher crude oil futures and concerns about persistently high energy prices weighing on the Eurozone economy.
