Yen Slips Toward 160.75 as US Dollar Gains Strength
The Japanese yen continues to weaken against the US dollar, with analysts at United Overseas Bank (UOB) predicting it will reach the 160.75 level soon.
This move reflects ongoing differences in monetary policy between the Bank of Japan and the Federal Reserve, as well as broader market sentiment favoring the greenback.
According to UOB's technical outlook, the yen's gradual decline remains within a consolidation range, but breaking below 160.75 could lead to further weakness.
The interest rate gap between Japan and the US is driving this depreciation, with the Federal Reserve maintaining relatively high rates to combat inflation while the Bank of Japan has only gradually moved away from its ultra-loose policy.
