Yen Weakness Continues as Canadian Dollar Surges
The yen continued its downward trend against major currencies in the foreign exchange market. It traded flat against the dollar at 159.42 yen per dollar, down 0.01% from the previous day. However, it fell sharply against the Canadian dollar, declining by 0.88% to 114.36 yen per Canadian dollar.
The yen's weakness was reflected in its year-to-date performance against major currencies. It has weakened 13.03% against the dollar and 17.99% against the euro since the start of the year.
The Canadian dollar, on the other hand, has been gaining strength, with the yen falling by 0.88% to 114.36 yen per Canadian dollar. This pair is approaching its one-year high of 118.65 yen.
