Yuan Hits New High as Ruble and Tenge Plummet
The Chinese yuan has reached a new historical record, while the Russian ruble and Kazakh tenge have weakened. Over the week, the yuan updated its maximum twice.
According to data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and exchange points in Bishkek, the US dollar remained stable with an official rate of 87.45 soms, showing no change. The euro slightly decreased by 0.19 percent, failing to stay above the 102 soms mark.
The Russian ruble experienced a significant drop of 1 percent, decreasing its value at exchange points from buying at 0.961 soms to selling at 1.038 soms. The Kazakh tenge also saw a decrease, dropping by 0.84 percent with an official rate of 0.1892 soms.
The Chinese yuan reached a new historical record, increasing its value by 0.01 percent with an official rate of 13.0133 soms. At exchange points, the yuan was buying at 13 soms and selling at 13.58 soms.
