$1 Billion Award Secured for Anderon Quantum Wafer Manufacturing Facility
Anderon LLC, an IBM company, has finalized a $1 billion CHIPS and Science Act award from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support R&D for quantum wafer manufacturing.
The Albany, New York-based company operates a state-of-the-art 300-millimeter pure-play quantum wafer foundry backed by an additional $1 billion investment from IBM.
Anderon has begun running its first quantum wafers through the facility, with current production focused on superconducting qubit arrays, quantum I/O signaling, and readout components.
This award follows a May 2026 announcement outlining proposed $1 billion CHIPS funding for IBM's purpose-built quantum foundry.
