$1 Billion Boost for IBM's Quantum Wafer Manufacturing
IBM has received $1 billion in funding from the U.S. Department of Commerce to expand its research and development for domestic quantum wafer manufacturing through its company Anderon.
This investment supports Anderon's 300-millimeter pure-play foundry, which is expected to provide a scalable manufacturing base for IBM's quantum computing needs.
Anderon has already begun processing quantum wafers at its New York facility and aims to translate research into commercially viable technologies.
