$1 Billion Caterpillar Expansion in Sanford Aims to Meet Growing Demand
Caterpillar is set to invest $1 billion in its Sanford facility to support the Cat Compact business. The expansion will allow Caterpillar to increase production of compact track loaders and telehandlers, which are used for building homes and infrastructure.
The construction of the new manufacturing facility is expected to begin later this year, with incremental production capacity starting in 2028.
Caterpillar aims to meet growing customer demand for its compact equipment, particularly in the residential and commercial construction sectors.
