$1 Trillion Club: Amazon and Walmart Poised to Outpace SpaceX
SpaceX's ambitious goal of reaching $1 trillion in revenue by 2030 has been met with skepticism, but two companies that may actually achieve this milestone are Amazon and Walmart.
Amazon generated $716.9 billion in revenue in 2025 and needs a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.88% to reach $1 trillion by 2030, which is well within its reach. The e-commerce specialist has been firing on all cylinders, with AWS posting accelerating sales growth in the past few quarters.
Amazon's cloud computing segment remains its most important growth driver, and CEO Andy Jassy said that 85% of IT spending still happens on-premises, leaving a vast runway ahead. Additionally, Amazon is looking to improve margins through AI-powered features and internally developed AI chips.
Walmart, on the other hand, needs a CAGR of about 7% to reach $1 trillion by the fiscal year ending in January 2031, which may be an easy feat for the retail giant. However, it is unlikely to achieve this milestone, but there are still great reasons to invest in the stock.
Walmart boasts a highly resilient and reliable business that can navigate almost any environment, largely thanks to its ability to offer lower prices through favorable deals with suppliers and passing cost savings on to customers. The company also benefits from its vast network of retail locations and e-commerce sales, which have been growing faster in recent years.
