$1.5 Billion Private Bond Deal Trips in Size for Boeing-Lockheed Space Venture
Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp.'s rocket joint venture, United Launch Alliance (ULA), has successfully wrapped up a $1.5 billion private-bond deal that was originally expected to raise only $500 million.
The deal was tripled in size, with ULA offering four portions of debt with maturities ranging from three to 10 years for commercial clients including Amazon.com Inc. and the US military.
The bond offerings were made through private placement, meaning they are not publicly traded on any exchange. The exact terms of the bonds, such as interest rates and repayment schedules, have not been disclosed.
