$20 Billion Stealth Fighter Contract Deal Secured by Boeing
Boeing has secured a major contract worth $20 billion to build the US Navy's next-generation stealth fighter, dubbed F/A-XX. The contract covers test aircraft and represents a significant boost for Boeing's St. Louis operations, which are set to shut down the Super Hornet and Growler lines.
The new jet is expected to feature advanced stealth capabilities, longer range, and the ability to work with unmanned combat aircraft. First production jets are slated for delivery in the 2030s.
Boeing beat out Northrop Grumman for the deal, after Lockheed Martin was dropped from the competition in March 2025 due to design issues.
