$23M Tech Partnership Aims to Boost Global Education Initiatives
A coalition of six technology companies has pledged over $23 million to support education initiatives around the world. The commitments, led by Amazon and Google, include grants, free software access, and training programs for educators.
The Fostering the Future Together initiative, launched in 2025 by First Lady Melania Trump, aims to improve children's education through technology access and online protection. The program focuses on coding assistance, educator development, and digital learning, with participating universities serving as a major distribution channel.
Amazon is taking a leading role, expanding free access to its Kiro coding assistant through 132 universities, targeting around 5 million students. Separately, AWS Academy will provide free training to more than 2 million students. Google has committed $4 million to expand its educator series internationally.
