$24,000 by 2030: Is a $10,000 Investment in SpaceX Stock Still Worth It?
SpaceX's stock debuted on the Nasdaq in June at $150 per share, valuing the company at $1.77 trillion. Despite a volatile few months and briefly surpassing Amazon and Microsoft in market value, the stock now trades back around its opening price of $145.47.
The company's underlying product mix remains strong, with connectivity - led by Starlink satellite internet provider - generating $4.3 billion in sales during the second quarter, a 66% increase from last year. However, the space exploration division operates at a loss, while the AI segment nearly tripled to $2.6 billion in revenue but consumed a lot of cash.
SpaceX's total addressable market is estimated at $28.5 trillion, with $370 billion allocated for space-enabled solutions and $1.6 trillion for connectivity. The remaining $26.5 trillion is attributed to AI in enterprise apps, infrastructure, consumer subscriptions, and ads. To reach this market, the company has been investing heavily in AI development, with about $20.7 billion in capital expenditures in 2025 and roughly $28.5 billion in the first half of 2026.
With a balance sheet featuring around $100 billion in cash and marketable securities but only covering a few years at its current pace, SpaceX may require more debt or new share sales to reach its goals. A plausible base case suggests reaching $400 billion in revenue by 2030, with the company potentially becoming a multibagger over the next several years.
