$280K in Scholarships Supports Next Generation of Poultry Veterinarians
Five veterinary students from top universities have received prestigious scholarships to pursue their careers in poultry medicine and health.
The scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, were awarded through a partnership between Merck Animal Health and the American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP) Foundation.
The recipients are Miranda Carrisosa Gibbes from Michigan State University, Mackenzie Ripper from North Carolina State University, Christian Rushing from Mississippi State University, Kelci Teel from Texas Tech University, and Kristy Ling Trung from the University of Georgia.
The students have experience in areas including poultry research, diagnostics, pathology, production, and flock health. Their career goals include working as poultry production or field veterinarians, advancing animal health, welfare, and sustainable poultry production.
