A former Google product manager has launched a free financial planning tool called Appleseed Planner. The platform, which models over $33 billion in assets across 11,000 users, aims to provide tech professionals with an advisor-grade Monte Carlo retirement plan in just five minutes.
Appleseed Planner's founder, Adam Waaramaa, built the tool after struggling to find a suitable financial planning solution for his wife. Existing tools were either too simplistic or required manual inputs and research, so he created a platform that automates life-event modeling and delivers AI-guided insights.
The tool includes features such as an Adaptive Spending feature, which models how people tighten their budgets during market downturns, and a Spouse Share mode for couples to view their plan together. For power users, Appleseed Planner offers a Pro tier with live account syncing, Roth conversion optimization, and detailed raw data exports.
Waaramaa's tool has gained traction among tech professionals, who are tired of having to act as human calculators for legacy financial apps. The platform has captured a highly concentrated wealth demographic, with an average of $3 million in assets modeled per user.
