40th Annual Applestock Festival Celebrates Harvest in New Paltz
The 40th annual Applestock festival brought a lively crowd to Huguenot Street in New Paltz, New York, on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The event, organized by the Reformed Church of New Paltz, celebrated the harvest season with music, food, and homemade goods. The air was filled with the aroma of apple cider and pies, with attendees enjoying classic American treats like apple crisps and apple fritters. The church sold out all 240 pies, featuring varieties such as double-crusted apple, Dutch crumb apple, and pumpkin, all made with apples from Dressel Farms.
The festival hosted 40 vendors, including Hudson Valley-based Acadia Living, which sold home goods, fire starters, and handcrafted baskets. Sara Christian, the owner of Acadia Living, expressed her enthusiasm for connecting with the community. Valerie Wright, the owner of Wright Cellars, noted the strong support for local businesses in New Paltz, highlighting the diverse attendance of students, families, and locals.
For the Reformed Church, Applestock serves as a crucial fundraiser to sustain its programs and foster community bonding. John Apuzzo, a church member involved in the setup, enjoyed seeing people come together on a sunny day. Wright appreciated the shared experience, emphasizing the sense of community and common purpose among attendees.
