5 Pre-Installed Apps to Remove from Your Windows 11 PC for a Smoother Experience
Removing pre-installed apps on Windows 11 can significantly improve your PC's performance. Pankil Shah, a long-time Windows user and writer, recently discovered this by uninstalling several Microsoft apps he no longer needed.
Shah removed OneDrive, which takes up unnecessary resources and space, especially since he uses Google Drive for storage. He also uninstalled Xbox, as it doesn't benefit him on his PC and drains resources in the background.
Additionally, Shah got rid of Copilot, a web-based AI app that uses CPU and RAM unnecessarily. He prefers not to use Copilot, but even if he did, it's more efficient running in a browser than as a standalone app.
The removal of Outlook was also a necessity for Shah, who prefers using email clients on his phone or computer. The new Outlook is resource-intensive and can hog up to 1GB of memory, which is excessive for an email app.
Finally, Shah let go of Phone Link, which, although useful, has connection issues and drains the battery when constantly communicating with the PC.
Bloatware in general can slow down your PC, so it's essential to remove unused apps. You can use tools like Winhance to delete bloatware quickly and efficiently.
