US stock futures were mixed on Thursday as the Dow Jones index rose while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures dropped following Wednesday's lower close.

The seasonally adjusted initial jobless claims for the week ending Sept. 5 dipped by 1,000 to 206,000, underscoring ongoing stability in employment.

August's Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand moved up 0.4%, driven by a 4.2% jump in energy costs, bringing the unadjusted 12-month final demand increase to 5.4%.

Pledging a $5,000 'Trump dividend' to citizens if the GOP maintains control of Congress, President Donald Trump also proposed renaming the Strait of Hormuz to 'Trump Strait', and asserted that the war with Iran would conclude right after the midterm elections.
