A $68 million settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Google over its Google Assistant feature, which allegedly recorded personal conversations without prompting.

The suit accused Google of capturing conversations across multiple devices over a decade, although the company denies any wrongdoing.

Those who purchased a qualifying Google device or lived in a home with one between May 18, 2016, and March 19, 2026, may be eligible for a payment from the settlement fund.

Qualifying devices include Google Home, Home Mini, Home Max, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, and Pixel smartphones. Payments will be based on how many valid claims are filed and how many 'points' each claim receives.
