$730 Million Price Cut: Home Depot Uses Tariff Refund to Slash Costs
Home improvement retailer Home Depot is using part of its $730 million tariff refund to lower prices for customers. The company received hundreds of millions of dollars in refunds earlier this year and pledged to use them to cut costs on products.
Roughly $685 million of the refund will go towards reducing the price of goods, according to Home Depot's Chief Financial Officer Richard McPhail. He described the figure as 'the vast majority' of the funds expected to be received by the company.
This is not an isolated incident - several major companies have received tariff refunds and pledged to use them to benefit customers. Apple, for example, reported almost $2.2 billion in refunds, while Nike gained $986 million.
