737 Max Jet Hit with Software Glitch Causing Pilot Workload Increase

Boeing Co. has identified an issue with the 737 Max jet's navigation system that may increase pilot workload during landing.

The software glitch can occur when a pilot needs to abort a landing attempt, forcing the autopilot into a simpler level of automation for pitch control.

This increases pilot workload compared to the standard mode used, and Boeing has informed all 737 operators about the issue.

Boeing said it is working to accelerate the development of a permanent fix, originally slated for 2028.
