$799 Price Tag Remains as Apple Watch Ultra 4 Boasts Significant Upgrades
Apple's latest Apple Watch Ultra 4 model maintains its price at $799, which might seem like an odd decision given the significant upgrades it offers. The watch boasts up to 50 hours of battery life in everyday use, a 19% improvement over its predecessor, and can last for up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode.
The Ultra 4 also features a rebuilt health-sensing system that includes optical and electrical sensors, allowing for more frequent heart-rate and heart-rate-variability readings. This data is then used by the Readiness score, which provides personalized advice on whether the wearer should recover or train harder based on recent activity, sleep, and vital signs.
The new watch also addresses a major concern for endurance users: its ability to last through an event. The Extended Workout mode promises 25 hours of continuous GPS and heart-rate tracking, while a lower-power setting stretches selected outdoor tracking to 45 hours.
Investors are watching the Apple Watch Ultra 4 launch closely, as it could potentially impact the company's Wearables, Home and Accessories category revenue. However, even an excellent Ultra 4 launch may not be enough to carry the stock on its own, given that this category only accounts for 7.2% of Apple's quarterly revenue.
