91-Year-Old Widower Defies Age, Continues Working Part-Time at McDonald's
Eric Edwards, a 91-year-old widower from Coventry, England, has been working at a McDonald's restaurant in Gallagher Retail Park for eight years. Despite his advanced age, Edwards continues to work part-time at the fast-food chain, where he helps with cleaning and assisting customers.
A family recently posted about their positive interaction with Edwards on the Spotted Coventry City Facebook group, praising his kindness and work ethic. The post went viral, surprising Edwards, who told the BBC that it 'has snowballed' since then.
Edwards, who lost his wife 24 years ago, says working at McDonald's helps him stay active and engaged in life. Before his time at the fast-food chain, he worked at various companies, including General Electric Company and Daimler Motors. Edwards also enjoys adventurous activities, such as parachute jumping and zip-lining.
When asked about his decision to continue working, Edwards said: 'If it's something you're doing and you can still do it reasonably well, enjoy it and it keeps you going, why stop?'
