AAPL Slips on Lackluster Reception to Foldable Duo and iPhone 18 Pro
Apple's latest product lineup, led by the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, failed to impress investors as Apple shares slipped 0.3% after the presentation.
The iPhone Duo is a foldable smartphone with a starting price of $1,999, combining a conventional outer screen with a 7.6-inch folding display designed for multitasking, video calls, and running several apps at once.
The device features a titanium body, Apple's A20 Pro chip, a custom hinge, and the company's new C2 modem. Preorders begin October 16 before deliveries start on October 23.
The launch marked the first major product event since Tim Cook stepped down as CEO and was succeeded by John Ternus, who is facing an early test of whether he can restore excitement to Apple's product portfolio.
