AAPL Surges 1.5% as Apple Overhauls EU App Store Policies
Apple (AAPL) rose approximately 1.5% on Tuesday after introducing significant changes to its App Store policies in the European Union.
The new rules, which will take effect on October 1, include a single set of business terms for all developers and lower commissions.
Under the revised model, Apple charges a 26% fee for app sales through the App Store using Apple In-App Purchase, while most developers will pay 15%, including Small Business, Mini Apps, and Video Partner programs, plus subscriptions after year one.
The changes are aimed at meeting EU demands and giving developers more flexibility while maintaining Apple's safety standards.
