Aave Enables Tokenized Stocks as Collateral for USDC Loans

Aave's V4 platform on Base has launched an Equities Hub that accepts seven Coinbase-issued tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral for USDC loans.

The supported stocks are Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Tesla, all of which represent a certificate linked to underlying shares held at Alpaca Securities in segregated custody.

Eligible non-U.S. users can deposit these tokenized equity exposures to borrow USDC against them, with Chainlink providing pricing data for valuation purposes.

This development marks an early attempt to bridge the gap between traditional portfolios and decentralized finance (DeFi) by allowing investors to use tokenized equities as collateral for on-chain borrowing.
