Abbott Teams Up with Google for AI-Powered Glucose Insights

Abbott has partnered with Google to integrate glucose insights from its Lingo biowearable into the Google Health app. This collaboration aims to provide users with a more comprehensive view of their health by combining ongoing glucose data with other wellness metrics.

The integration will allow users to view glucose trends alongside other health and fitness data, such as activity levels, sleep patterns, and nutrition habits. The goal is to empower individuals to make informed decisions about their lifestyle and nutrition choices in the moment.

Abbott launched Lingo over-the-counter CGM biosensor in September 2024, built on its FreeStyle Libre CGM technology platform for monitoring diabetes. The partnership with Google will leverage AI-powered insights to deliver personalized recommendations designed to help users build sustainable habits related to nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery.

The Abbott-Google collaboration will focus on three key areas: integrating glucose data into the Google Health app, combining glucose insights with Google's Health Coach, and conducting a large-scale real-world metabolic health study. This research aims to uncover connections between activity, sleep, wellbeing, and metabolic health, informing more personalized guidance that supports healthier day-to-day decisions.
