Abel's Berkshire Portfolio Remains Highly Concentrated Under New Leadership
Greg Abel, the successor to Warren Buffett at Berkshire Hathaway, has maintained a highly concentrated portfolio since taking over as CEO on Dec. 31. According to recent figures, 55% of Berkshire's $360 billion investment portfolio is invested in just four standout stocks: Apple, American Express, Alphabet (Google), and Coca-Cola.
Abel's top holding is Apple, with a stake worth $76.61 billion, followed closely by American Express at $47.24 billion. Alphabet rounds out the top three with a $36.91 billion investment, while Coca-Cola comes in fourth with $35.3 billion invested.
The concentration of Berkshire's portfolio is not a new phenomenon, as it was also characteristic of Warren Buffett's investing style. However, Abel has demonstrated a particular affinity for Alphabet, which he views as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud infrastructure services.
