Ackman Diversifies Portfolio with Netflix, Visa, and Mastercard Additions
Billionaire investor Bill Ackman has made significant changes to his hedge fund's portfolio, adding three new stocks and making some adjustments to existing holdings. Ackman's Pershing Square Capital Management fund has averaged annual gains of around 16%, outperforming the stock market's average.
The fund's concentration in just 14 holdings suggests a high level of confidence in its investments. The most notable additions to the portfolio include Netflix, Visa, and Mastercard.
Ackman appears to have been attracted to these companies due to their dominant positions in their respective markets and relatively low valuations. Netflix shares have declined by about 32% over the past year, while Visa and Mastercard's stock prices look fairly valued with recent P/E ratios of 33 and 33, respectively.
The fund also holds a significant stake in Uber, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Meta Platforms, Howard Hughes Holdings, and other prominent companies. Ackman's investment strategy focuses on buying stocks at fair or low prices and holding them for long-term growth.
