Ackman Trims Amazon Stake, Boosts Microsoft and Meta
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has been making significant changes to his portfolio. In the last quarter, he trimmed his stake in Amazon by a quarter while increasing his holdings in Microsoft and Meta Platforms.
Ackman's move is noteworthy because of his reputation for taking big bets on stocks he believes in. His concentrated portfolio consists of fewer than 15 stocks, which means each holding carries significant weight.
Amazon remains one of Ackman's largest holdings despite the trimming, and it appears to be a sound decision given its strong cloud computing and e-commerce businesses. The company is expected to reach $1 trillion in cloud revenue and has seen aggressive growth in its AWS business.
Microsft, on the other hand, has been seeing strong growth in its cloud and enterprise software segments. Ackman's bet on Microsoft is likely influenced by its close ties with OpenAI, which comes with massive cloud commitments over the next several years.
