Ackman Unloads Three Stocks, Buys Six New Ones Amid Market Volatility
Bill Ackman, one of Wall Street's most closely followed investment managers, has made significant changes to Pershing Square's portfolio. The changes include raising $5 billion in fresh capital for a new fund, Pershing Square USA, which will allow U.S. investors to invest alongside Ackman.
Over the last few months, Ackman and his team have also invested 95% of the $5 billion raised since launching in late April, benefiting from a volatile market where some investments traded at a discount.
Ackman's new fund has already made several significant moves. He exited three positions: Alphabet, Universal Music Group, and Hertz Global. Ackman cited valuation and growth concerns as reasons for selling these stocks, preferring to invest in other opportunities instead.
In contrast, Ackman invested in six new companies across various industries, including Visa, Mastercard, Netflix, S&P Global, Intercontinental Exchange, and Alcon. These investments are expected to provide a hedge against market volatility and offer growth potential.
