Ackman's Big Moves: Amazon Stake Cut, Microsoft and Meta Gain
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman has made significant moves in his investment portfolio during the second quarter, and one of those notable changes involves Amazon. Despite cutting his stake in the e-commerce giant by a quarter, it remains his fifth-largest holding.
Ackman's move is not entirely surprising given the growing importance of AI in various industries, including cloud computing. He has also made adjustments to his positions in hyperscaler stocks, including Microsoft and Meta Platforms, which he views as AI winners.
Microsoft, for instance, has seen its software deeply embedded in enterprises, while its Azure cloud computing unit continues to put up outstanding growth and has a huge backlog. The company's increasing adoption of AI copilots is also a positive sign.
