Adam Smith Appointed as Disney's New Direct-to-Consumer Chairman
The Walt Disney Company has announced leadership changes within its Entertainment segment, naming Adam Smith as Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer for Disney Entertainment. In this new role, Smith will oversee Disney's global entertainment SVOD business, driving strategy, development, and continued innovation across the company's streaming platforms.
Smith has been with Disney since 2024 and has played a central role in transforming its direct-to-consumer business. He previously served as Co-President, Direct-to-Consumer and Chief Product & Technology Officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN. Before joining Disney, Smith held executive roles at Google and YouTube.
