Aegis Logistics' stock price surged on Monday after the company entered exclusive talks to acquire UAE-based Tristar Group for around $1.5 billion.

This potential deal would be one of the largest cross-border consolidation moves in Indian logistics history, and comes at a time when Aegis is expanding its footprint through a large capex cycle.

Tristar operates across over 30 countries, with a diverse customer base including major names like ADNOC, TOTAL SA, and Dow Inc. The company's global footprint would complement Aegis's existing operations well.

Aegis currently carries a market capitalisation of around $4.7 billion, with the promoter Chandaria family holding a 58.1% stake against 41.9% held by the public.
